New Facility to Fuel Aussie Fightback

MediaCom Sport & Entertainment are delighted to announce that we will be leading the commercial development for a new, world-leading elite sports performance facility based on Australia’s surf coast. The $350 million development will be known as Cape Otway Road Australia (CORA) and will set a new world standard in the provision of elite training, sports science and recovery. It is intended the facility will launch a new renaissance in Australian sport by offering a unique athlete-centric destination. The project also promises to play an important role in preserving Victoria’s reputation as the sporting capital of Australia.

CORA will cater to the world’s most popular national and international sports, incorporating the latest global standard of sporting infrastructure and technology. This will provide professional sports stars with a unique training and traveling destination that promises new world standards of sport and an unforgettable Australian experience. Athletes from AFL, football, rugby, cricket and tennis will benefit from the world-class fields, while swimmers, gymnasts, runners and cyclists will also be catered for. A sports science hub incorporating a plethora of sports science laboratories and an environment chamber will also be part of the development, which will include an MCG-sized oval, two soccer pitches, eight tennis courts and an aquatic centre with a 50m pool.

Accommodation and facilities will not be restricted to sports professionals – parts of the facility will be open to tourists and corporate groups; anyone with an interest in an active lifestyle and wellbeing seeking to discover the best of Australia. It will offer five-star accommodation, a retail village, a surf park including a Kelly Slater-designed wave pool, and an organic farm to provide premium produce, prepared by signature chefs for five-star restaurants onsite.

MediaCom Sport & Entertainment have exclusive rights on the sponsorship commercialisation of the facility with the opportunity to develop sport, tourism, retail and wellness rights packages. We will also act as the global promoter of CORA, working with elite sporting organisations globally to bring the world’s best teams and athletes to Australia.
